    1. Have found more info on Samuel P and Nancy Jane Barker Willis family
    2. M Powell
    3. I am still hunting for the parents of Nancy Jane Barker, she was born in Washington Co., VA on 04 Apr, 1847. I now "believe" that Silas and Harriet Hobbs Barker were her parents. The 1850 census has Nancy 3 years old, Rachel 1 year old, parents are Silas and Harriet, they also have Martin 10, Wilson 6, Elizabeth 4 and Stephen [7?]/12. In the 1860 census Rachel is 13 and no Nancy, I now believe that the census taker left Nancy 13 out, Rachel should have been the next line as 11 years old. John, the son of Silas is 4 in 1860, he is 22 in the 1880 census living with his in-law's, had married Anna Elizabeth Moore. Anna's parents are shown as Moon in the 1880 free census, Richard and Mentie as her parents. The Washington Co., VA marriages show Samuel P. Willis, s/o John and Nancy Willis married Nancy Jane Barker, parents not named. Martha Willis Wood, my gg grandmother was the sister of Samuel P. Willis. My ggg grandfather, Rev. Willis Ingle married them. We have now found Samuel P. and Nancy Jane Barker Willis in the 1910 and 1920 census, 11 Dist., Washington Co., TN. They were in Sullivan Co., TN before that, both were born in Washington Co., VA. On the 1910 census Samuel and Nancy have their daughter, Lula E. "Nannie" living with them and husband is James W. Barker. Also living with them are Benjamin F. and David H. Barker and according to 1900 census they are the brothers of James W. Barker. It looks like it has nephews as relationship, (hard to read) this would mean if so, that Lula married her cousin. In the 1900 census 18 Dist, Sullivan Co., TN John B. Barker male white born Feb 1851 49 years old and widowed (that would be 3 ages found for him in census, born 1851, 1852 and 1856): Children of John B. Barker are: 1. Martha E. 21 born in VA (same name and age as child of John and Anna Barker, son-in-law of Richard and Martha (Mintie) Moore (Moon) in 1880 census) There is a notation on page 471 of the "1850 Census of Washington County, Virginai, Annotated" about the marriage of John Barker and Ann Elizabeth Moore, d/o Richard and Martha. 2. Ida M. 15 born in VA 3. James W. born June 1884 15 born VA (husband of Lula Willis, d/o Samuel P. and Nancy Jane Barker Willis) 4. Molly F. 13 born in VA 5. Ben F. 9 born in VA 6. David H. 6 born in VA Living with Samuel P. and Nancy Jane Barker Willis in the 1910 Washington Co., TN census are Benjamin F. Willis 18 and David H. Willis 15. I found these cemetery records, also found the middle name of Samuel which we didn't know. Nancy Barker Willis born 04 April, 1847 died 25 June, 1925, Samuel Perry Willis, born 07 Feb., 1843 died 13 May, 1928. James W. Barker, born 11 June, 1884 and died 28 July, 1927. Lula Willis Barker born 13 Oct, 1879 and died 12 Dec., 1946. All four are buried in the Boones Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Washington Co., TN. Can anyone give me more info on the Barkers that might prove or disprove my "belief" of Nancy Jane Barker being the daughter of Silas and Harriet and missed on the 1860 census. She married in 1866. Marguerette I have a new e-mail address and have lost track of Ann Miller Chory, my e-mail to her bounced. Does anyone have an current e-mail address for her?
