She moved with her parents to Monroe Co. Mo, in 1837 where they lived several years when she married to James R. Barr and moved to Shelby Co. She joined the M. E. Church, South, when 14 years of age and ever after lived a consistent christian life till her death in Clarence, Mo., Thursday , Nov. 7, 1902, at the age of 81 years, 9 months, 22 days. A week ago she fell from her back door and sustained internal injuries from which she never recovered. Her husband died many years ago and her three children are all also dead, thus not only has the end of a long, useful life come to end but to all of a good family. A better one never lived than the old Barr family. Oh, what a host of friends met our dear old aunt on the bank of the heavenly Jordan. Her funeral was preach! ed at the Chapel Friday to a large crowd, by her pastor W. O. Medley, assisted by Revs. Swearengen and Wimberly. Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep."
