I have a letter written by my great great grandmother just about the time of the Civil War. She was writing to her young sister who was off at school in Kansas. My gg grandmother was a pretty independent thinker.....she gave her advise not to marry to young. My gg grandmother had a prenupital agreement with her husband written just prior to their marriage in Jan 1860 (Wash. Co. VA). She also had her maiden name put her tombstone when she died (Sinking Spring Cemetery, Abingdon) Lesley
