I have uploaded to my web site the following databases: Prince George's County, MD Slave Index as compiled from Estate Inventories 1740-1744...........this is the proofed version & contains all slaves & indentured servants found on Probate Book DD1. Probate Book DD2 will be completed in January. Prince George's County, MD Debtors Index as compiled from Estate inventories 1740-1744...this is incomplete at this time but I hope to have the remainder completed in January. The Slave Index is the same which can be found at the USGenWeb Maryland archives (except in HTML of course...I hate plain text). By the way, if you haven't visited it recently, do so. They have loads of great data for various MD counties. I will be contributing the debtor's list to them also. The link to my site is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~familyinformation/ and I have a direct link to both databases on the main index page To USGenWeb's Project State Pages http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ I am spending some time doing another project that I think has astounding significance for the Afro-American genealogist! I found in the Papers of the Continenetal Congress what are called Inventory Books of Negroes who arrived in NY City in 1783. I need to dig into the history a bit but the books were done by the British (Guy Carleton's signature is on the end of each). This roll lists surname, given name, ship arrived on, description, age, who brought them, former owner and place of residence. This will be the largest project I have ever tackled so wish me luck! I will upload tonight an example of what is there. Happy Holidays to all and I hope I have given someone a present within one of these databases! Billy
