VA Deeds Book 5 p 30........ 13 January 1812: THIS INDENTURE made this 13th day of January 1812 between William FAIRES and his wife Elizabeth of the County of Washington State of Virginia of the one part and the heirs of the deceased Moses LINDSAY of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Wm Faires & his wife Elizabeth for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen dollars to them in hand paid doth grant bargain & sell <alien Enfeeoff?> & confirm unto said heirs of the deceased Moses Lindsay their heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land Containing seventy seven acres be the same more of less lying and being in the County of Washington on the South side of the South fork of Holston River & Bounded as followeth to wit. Witnesseth that the said Moses Lindsey and Catherine his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Dollars current money to them in hand paid do bargain and sell unto the said Gidian Hickenbottom and his heirs one certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in said County of Washington containing fifty acres be the same more of less and bounded as follows (to wit).
