"On an application of Daniel HARMAN, it was ordered that Samuel HARMAN, Joshua BRUCE and Gilbert MURDOCK view the new road proposed from Giles County line at William CUBINE's running to intersect the main road to the Plaster Bank at the house of Daniel HARMAN and report." Thus this suggests that the above Wm. CUBINE (who may have been your Wm. CUBINE or his father) was living on or near what was at the time, the Giles/Wythe county line in 1831. A William CUBIN and Sydney HARMAN were married in Wythe Co., VA on 02 Nov 1820 by Samuel NEWBERRY [Source: "Wythe County, Virginia Marriages, 1790-1853, (2006) by Beverly Repass Hoch and Mary B. Kegley, page 33]. The bond for the above marriage was dated 23 Oct 1820: "William CUBIN and Sydney HARMAN, daughter of Adam HARMAN. Kegley, page 109]. A William CUBIN was granted 218 acres on the north side of Walker's Mountain in Wythe Co., VA on 12 Sep 1835 by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant # 2650(?).
