    2. Lillie Stallard
    3. List I maybe posting this to the wrong place but I need help. My grandparents lived for a time in Washington Co. and thier oldest daughter attended school there and she needs to obtain a school record for proof of age. I have written to the Washington Co. school board for her. I have recieved a reply from them stating they need more info. They need to know what school she attended but she can not remember the name of it. All relatives when asked where they lived at in Washington Co. say they lived on the mountain. Does anyone know of a mountain name in Washington Co. We do know that her grandparents lived in the North Fork District in 1920 and was thinking that maybe her parents lived there too. Is North Fork District in a mountain area? By the way we do know that a brother and some sisters were born in Washington Co. starting in 1933. If anyone can help she sure would appreciate it. She is 81 ands needs proof of age for social security. Thanks Lillie

    1. [VAWASHIN] Accuracy of the Original Abstract of the NC Continental Line
    2. I meant to include this in the original email but forgot. I imagine that many will not see ancestor's in this database that they are certain were in the NC Line. Personally, I am 100% certain that not all names are there that should be. I imagine that was because of muster rolls being found after the abstract was completed in 1828. For example, if you look at the document at my site NC Officers of the Continental Line, you will find several missing from the abstract! I have also looked at muster rolls for various regiments of the Line and idly spot-checked. Many on the regimental roster did not appear on the abstract. That is another project for another day, a compilation of all names that appear on that film. Billy

    1. [VAWASHIN] Abstract of NC Continental Line
    2. I have put this semi-proofed document at my site (proofed from surnames A-O). The document is the Abstract of North Carolina Continental Line. This was put together in 1828 by the clerks of NC's Secretary of State Hill. So, in essence, this is a transcript of a transcript with attendant errors in interpretation. The link to my site (correct this time!) is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~familyinformation/ Click on the Transcripts link, then History and the document will be listed under the New section (until I figure out how to reorganize some things). As I said at the top, this is not 100% proofed. I was able to get surnames A-O and will finish up next week. After that, I will put is some enhancements like direct links to surnames begining with A, B, etc. as well as put up a copy sorted by Regiment, Rank, and then Surname. Hope this helps someone. Happy Memorial Day, Billy

    3. Posted on: Washington Co. Va Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Va/Washington/10341 Surname: LYTZ ------------------------- I am looking for any information on the Lytz family in Washington Co, Va and elsewhere. The only information I have is the following: my grandfather Lucian C. Lytz (born in 1914 in Mobile, Al and died 1999 in Vero Beach, Fl) was the younger son of Lucian Cook Lytz who was born in Bristol, Va in 1880 and died in Mobile in 1933. He had another son, Walter who had two sons Walter and Karl. My great-grandfather Lucian Cook Lytz, in turn, was a younger son of Walter Lytz who was born in 1844 and died in 1917 in Bristol. The elder Lucian left Bristol because the family farm went to the oldest son who I have no information on. Any information on the Lytz family is greatly appreciated.
