    1. [VAWASHIN] Jasper and Susan Woodward found their dad
    2. katie angermeyer
    3. A few weeks ago I found our ggg grandparents, Catharine and Moses LINDSEY, on the 1860 Washington Co. VA census. They were an older couple ages 72 and 68, and in their household were two young children, Jasper WOODARD (8) and Susan WOODARD (6). Being curious about why these two children were there with the old folks, I put a query out to VAWASHIN-L@rootsweb, and other lists and got quite a bit of information from the WOODWARD/WOODARD line, which I never knew about before. Seems that Jasper and Susan were children of Isaac WOODWARD and Lucinda LINDSEY (d/o Moses and Catharine). The mother, Lucinda, apparently died sometime between 1854 when Susan was born and this 1860 census. The father, Isaac was on the 1860 census in the household of Samuel GOBBLE. He remarried in 1866, having more children by second wife, living until about 1880 in Washington Co. VA. He likely has a civil war story to tell, but haven't found that yet. I was interested in these "orphans" because they were first cousins to our gg grandfather, James Alexander Lindsey (b 1850), and probably played together prior to 1862, when James, his parents, brother and 3 sisters left Johnson County TN and went downstream by houseboat to Huntsville AL. Jasper and Susan likely knew the grandparents better than James Alexander, and perhaps were close to them during their last days (Catharine and Moses Lindsey do not appear on the 1870 census). Jasper and Susan do reconnect with their father. A Gasper (age 18) and Susannah (age 16) are on the 1870 census with Isaac WOODWARD, Ann Eliza FARIS / FARRIS (step-mother), and Conenttia (age 4, spelling?), and Francis J (age 2). Moses and Catharine LINDSEY had thirteen children, going from census 1820, 1830, 1840, and 1850. There are many sons and daughters that we do not know the names of. A big thanks to those who answered my query, Bill Leslie and Jane Oakes. If anyone wants a descendent report on Moses and Catharine LINDSEY, e-mail me privately. Includes WOODWARD, EASTRIDGE, amongst other names. Thats that for now, Katie _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Ann --------- > > Susannah Fleenor and Anthony Horn were my ggggrandparents. Susannah's parents > were Sarah Hobbs and Allen Fleenor, married 30 Dec 1830.

    2. I am researching the line Henry & Christiana > Henry & Philippina > Abraham & Elizabeth > Jacob & Barbara line mainly. One of my biggest questions now is the names of Henry and Philippina's children. He was Henry and Christiana's child. I have Abraham and a few others that no one seems to be absolutely positive were children of Henry and Philippina. As far as I can tell Abraham and his wife Elizabeth Miller lived in Sullivan Co, but I can't find any concrete listing of their children.
