Wondering if/how Macon ties into Francis Whitney and/or my Elijah Whitney who definitely were around the Mill Creek and Gross Creek area. Problem is there were Whittten/Whitton, Witten, Wheatley, Whitley, Whitely there that might actually be of the same family or totally different. Were the DeBusks from North Carolina? If so, where? Nothing prior to Washington Co.,VA on my Whitneys, but note a Francis Whitney witnessed a 1757 land purchase by Jacob Barnes in Edgecombe Co., NC and the Francis Whitney in Washington Co.'s possible son, my Elijah, was executor of the estate of a Cader Barnes in Christian Co., KY . Coincidence or clue? Will keep your Rachel in mind, please remember my Whitneys.

John Caylor and Mary Keaphart are indeed the parents of Rebecca. I have been researching in Augusta Co., VA for some time now looking for conclusive proof that these lines migrated south from there. I know that Thomas Tomlinson was born in Augusta Co. Sep/Oct 1802 to James and Mary Tomlinson. I suspect that I have located their marriage record but no proof yet. There are numerous variations for Caylor and Keaphart in Augusta also. Many have the right given names and disappear from Augusta Co. about the same time as our lines appear in Washington Co. I haven't had time to do any real intensive comparison of the available records. My e-mail addy is: res0jhq4@verizon.net

    2. Hi Barb, That may have been me. I have been exploring my Johns(t)on line from Wolfe Co. KY and this exploration has led me to a possible connection with the Johns(t)on/Crabtree line of Washington Co. I am primarily interested in Benjamin Allbright Johnston and Mary (Polly) Crabtree (m. in Wash Co. in 1818). In any case, even if I'm not the person you are thinking of I would still appreciate the information you have. Thanks very much, Gerri

    2. Barb Norvell
    3. This is directed to St Mary's list, but I am sending it to all the lists that I belong Everyone should be extra Careful. I got an email supposedly from someone on the St Mary's list. The clue to me was the wording "look to the attachment" Paul, it was in answer to our posting. I wrote to her to tell he she might have a virus. There is another new one out. It came out Monday. It attacks the address book of the person, and automatically sends out email. The clue, like I said is "LOOK TO THE ATTACHMENT" DON'T OPEN IT. Anyone with Windows, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express is vunerable. There is one going around that you don't even have to click on an attachment. You just have to open up the email and you get the virus. If you go to Symantic's web site, you can read all about it. It is getting so bad, that my company has asked that no one open personal email on there systems. I know this is not genealogy, but everyone has to be on the look out. -- Barb Main lines COLE, WARREN & ROBERTS Other names Carrico, Stoneman, Haga, Parks and more http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=barbnor http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/n/o/r/Barbara-E-Norvell/index.html MDSTMARY-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > Subject: > > MDSTMARY-D Digest Volume 01 : Issue 314 > > Today's Topics: > #1 [MDSTMARY-L] Thomas Warren ["Shirley" <swarren2@prodigy.net>] > #2 [MDSTMARY-L] History Channel Inter [Chris Myers <cdmyers@sigecom.net>] > #3 [MDSTMARY-L] Will of Thomas Warren [paul_mattingly@kindredhealthcare.c] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from MDSTMARY-D, send a message to > > MDSTMARY-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
