I sure hope your Almeda and mine are the same, it would sure make my day. The Almeda I am looking for is the half-sister to my great-grandmother Susan Janette Poff b 02/10/1860. Her mother was Margaret Poff and the father was a traveling salesman. They lived around Wolf Run. I have two pictures of Almeda Thomas and husband and children. There are six children in the last picture. My great-grandmother Janette married Commodore Stapleton and moved to Madison Co, Arkansas around 1890. I am hopefully for a positive connection. Looking forward to your reply. Sherian in Oklahoma

I found this while perusing the Papers of the Library of Congress and thought that it would be helpful to someone, somewhere. While it does not pertain to either of these lists directly, it is history and maybe someone may find a missing link. The list on the microfilm is a memorial to Congress from Obediah ROBINS & Comp. asking for reimbursement and consists of account book pages listing costs to aid returned prisoners of the Indians during the Revolutionary War. I am going to send out the abstract only and refrain from listing the costs of blankets, etc. These accounts cover the years 1778-1782. They are from M247-51 frames 2685-2691. It was founded in 1866 by the Rev. James Keys, at his own expense. It operated for 115 consecutive years. He ran the school with the help of his daughter for 12 yrs. When he retired, a "board of gentlemen from the Presbyterian Church bought the property and agreed that it should always be used for school purposes. My David ANDERSON was Scotch-Irish and came from Belfast, Ireland, according to family tradition. He was said to have been "a soldier in the Revolutionary War" and VA marriage records show that he was married to Elizabeth HARDY in 1782 in Amherst Co., VA. I can find NO records to validate his having served in the Rev. War from Virginia, as there were quite a few David Andersons from Virginia listed in National Archives records. >From Amherst Co. (tax lists), I can find no definite proof of where the family resided until they show up in Washington Co., VA, in the 1810 census. There also is a James ANDERSON shown as living not far from the David ANDERSON family in that census whom I believe may have been a brother to David. Then, approximately five years later, David bought land in Hawkins Co., TN. I have been unable to find any other records regarding the families' time spent in Washington Co....
