I found the name Agnes in the records of my grandfather, Sylvan Joseph Latture of Abingdon. Some correspondence lists Agnes as the second wife of Harmon Latture. Since Harmon's land grand was next to John Bowles land, there is a good chance Agnes is the daughter of John, but I have nothing to prove that.

We did have Harvey and William Powers in Smyth VA 1850 and 1860 who migrated to Gentry Mo by 1870 and George W. Powers in Scott County who's children later migrated south to TN. Other Powers of this family remained in Russell VA and Washington VA and some children of Henry Powers migrated to Johnson KY. Other children remained with Henry and Sarah Powers along with Thomas Jefferson Music throughout the early 1900's in the Little Moccasin Gap area of Washington, VA. Hi to All, I'm searching for any families that may be related in some way to Gabriel & Asenath "Davenport" DUNCAN. Gabriel was born c 1784 in Buckingham Co., VA to Jacob and Mary _______ DUNCAN. Gabriel had five known brothers and one sister. Their names are as follows: Charles, John Noah, Willaim, Jacob, and Peter. Sister- Elizabeth. From the information I have all the children were born in Buckingham Co., VA. Gabriel's wife, Asenath "Sena" died 7 Oct 1853 in Wash- ington Co., VA. Gabriel and Asenath had six known children, names as follows: Henry, Joseph, Ann Eliza, John J., Mary, Nancy. Joseph, of these children, is my husband's ancestor. He was born c 1815, married Sarah Kingsolver (seen spelling in several differant ways) 3 July 1845 in Washington Co., VA. They had four children, names as follows: Mary Adeline b: c 1846, Margaret b: c 1847, James Addison b: c 1849 and Sarah b: c 1851. Of their cildren James Addsion is my husband's ancestor. For some reason Sarah is not in the Duncan household in the 1860 Census of Washington Co., VA. The conclusions that have come into my hands on paper is that she died after giving birth of their fourth child, but I'm not sure as to this is the right conclusion. Joseph remarried a Susan _____? and is found in the 1880 Census in Mason County, West Virginia. The names of the children to his second wife are: B. L., Laura, John, Martha, & Emma. By the census all their children were born in West Virginia. Joseph's first set of children were bound out by the courts to masters and mistresses to learn a trade or occupation, he was not able to take care of them. I'm very much interested in contacting Joseph's families, and if there may be anyone that can help me out on his second wife's maiden name, B.L.'s real name, and there whereabouts. I'm also very much interested in knowing more about Joseph's daughters - Mary Adeline Duncan, SMITH, HARRIS and Sarah Duncan McKINNEY. Mary was married 1st to Francis M(arion?)
