I'm trying to find out about the family of my gg.uncle, Choncie V. Sanders (b.1892), who died in the gypsum mines in Saltville, 28 Jul 1923. He is buried at Elizabeth Cem. beside his daughter, Mabel, who died two weeks before from a childhood disease. Choncie (or Chauncey, I've seen both spellings), was married to Susie Farris (b.1900), daughter of Wade and Mollie Farris. Choncie and Susie had another daughter, Lois, who was born in 1917 in Wash. Co. After he died, Susie moved back into her parent's home. Is anyone familiar with this family or might know what happened to Susie and Lois Sanders? Barry: I have transcribed the entire 1790 Washington Co, VA tax list. Go to: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~berry/newupload/pages/figs.htm Scroll down until you see "1790 Personal Property Tax List Washington County, Virginia" and click on Book 1 and Book 2. Both files will download to your computer as PDF files. The tax lists are organized into two districts. I have called them Book 1 and Book 2. The people you are looking for could be in either. Each book is organized into rough alphabeltical order -- meaning, for instance, all the As are grouped together, but the As are not alphabetized within themselves. All Washington County tax lists from 1782-1850 are available through LDS. The film numbers are: 1782-1805 FHL US/CAN Film 1905744 1806-1827A FHL US/CAN Film 1905745 1827B-1840 FHL US/CAN Film 1905746 1841-1850 FHL US/CAN Film 1905747 Carol Vass Kent, WA
