My Dad, Robert ( Johnny} Lambert was in the mine at the time of the explosion. He was not injured and helped to recover those who were and those who did not survive. I was nine years old and I remember everything about this horrible tragedy . Several of these men were our neighbors and friends.Dad also passed in 1992 from black lung at age 62.
