Anyone wishing a DAR or SAR worksheet for membership in either organization please email me with your name and mailing address. Start with yourself......birth certificate, your marriage license if you're married. Your parents birth and marriage records. Death certificates have a lot of information on them......date of death, birthday, places, spouse name, parents names and places. Use census records, Bible records if old (copy the inside cover that gives date of publication). If you're from Tazewell County, Harman's Annals and Archives of the Pioneers of Tazewell County are simply wonderful! The Tazewell County Historical Society has both of these for sale. The library may also have them in the Virginia Room. You may have a common Revolutionary War soldier with members of the DAR. Check and see or I can for you. Just keep going back, one generation at a time and prove it, until you reach your Revolutionary War soldier. Let me know if I can help or guide you.
