Jerry, I think Lula Hankins Hunter's website is definitely the place to start. I would also suggest that you contact the courthouse and ask for the marriage records of William Hankins. Most of the records include the parents names. The only one I have found that didn't was from 1806. Tazewell County Heritage, Vol. 1, page 225 lists William Harrison Hankins as the son of John Hankins, Sr and Elizabeth Skaggs. It lists William's wife as Hannah Harrison.
