    3. June 21, 1889 Miss Mamie STONE, left for home yesterday morning. Dr. GILDERSLEEVE's new dwelling is nearly ready for the roof. Mr. Felix O'KEEFFE has returned from the V.A. and M. College. Mr. H.M. SMYTHE, of the Pocahontas Headlight, is in the city. Mrs. Martha PEIRCE is home from the summer from college at Salem, NC. J.W. CHAPMAN, Esq. returned from a professional trip to Baltimore. Mr. J.C. BEAVERS, of the Roanoke Herald, was in town during the week. Mr. A.C. SPOTTS made good use of a furlough from his corps on the C.V.R.R. Mr. Same WITTEN is ? on the N & W and will some day doubtless drive an engine down he C.V. by Pisgah. A.B. STUART, Esq. of West Virginia, with his family, is visiting Mr. J.H. STUART and Mrs. T.P. BOWEN, his brother and sister. Mr. G.S. GILDERSLEEVE has moved back to Gratton since the close of the High School, for the benefit of which he has resided in town for the last year. Mr. Randolph HENRY has returned from a session at Hampden Sydney College. His sister, Miss Charlotte, who had attended the commencement exercised, returned with him. Messrs. William M. GILLESPIE, A.L. GRAYBEAL, Chapman H. PEERY, James A. REPASS, Robert S. WILLIAMS and J.A. MCGUIRE have returned to Tazewell from their work at Emory and Henry College. Lost - At Episcopal church Wednesday, the 19th June, a silk umbrella with silver handle and my name on under side of handle. Please return to Central Hotel. J.M. MACRAE.
