Darrell, Tazewell County Heritage Vol I, states that Charter Mitchel came into Tazewell County circa 1779 His children married into the Harman and Hankins families. 3 Mitchel children married siblings, all children of John Hankins, SR and Elisabeth Skaggs. 2 Mitchel children marred Harmans. I have one reference that suggests Charter Mitchel may have come from Grayson County, but I can't verify that. Happy Hunting!
