    3. Scott, I didn't know if I would ever hear from Henry again, and was so thrilled to get a note from him last night. I'm pretty intrepid anymore when it comes to looking for my Elswicks. I've spent three years trying to get that line together and can't. So I've decided to get everything out there while we still have the use of RootWeb and GenWeb, and then maybe we can all find each other. Needless to say, I'm delighted that you and Henry connected. A bit of history: I didn't know I was an Elswick, despite the fact that my ggg-grandfather, and my mother's uncle, among others, have Elswick as a Christian name. About three or so years ago, my mother's cousin from Athens, WV, wrote my mother about an Elswick reunion which was being held in her area. So she sends me some news clippings and I go to the Shenandoah Co. library to check up on Hampshire Co., WV. A woman from the historical society works there and when I asked her where I could find info, she looked over my paper and saw that I was looking for Elswick, and it turned out she is a sister-in-law (sort of) of Gary Elswick who lives here in the Shenandoah. Very strange how that happened. So Gary and his cousin, Rev. Al Elswick, shared their research with me, but there's still too much to learn. Both these long-time researchers are now inactive -- Gary because of his health, and Rev. Al retired and moved to Upstate New York. I am so glad to hear from you, and will send you anything I have about the Elswicks that I have learned. I'm also glad that you and Lula Hankins Hunter are in touch. I had planned to go to Tazewell last summer, but couldn't make it. I hope to do so this year. I also connect to the Wittens, Greenups, McIntosh and Moores who have roots there.
