    3. This is just a "for-what's-it-worth," since I don't think I have any ancestral connection to the place (that I have yet discovered), but Santa did bring me some pretty nifty topographical mapping software for Christmas. By inserting the correct CD and typing "Pounding Mill, VA," I can zoom in to as close as 1"=250'. Not only that, but it gives latitute, longitude and elevation. Pounding Mill appears to be located astride U.S. 19/460 about 3 miles ENE of Claypool Hill. It's located at 37 deg, 4.69N latitude, 81 deg, 42.47W longitude. The elevation is about 2,200 feet. Another database I have that came with my genealogy program gives the location of the historic Pounding Mill School as 37 deg, 4' 39"N latitude, 81 deg, 42' 39"W longitude. No other "Pounding Mill" was returned in a search of that database. Hope this helps. Scott Chafin Houston, Texas Ron and/or Kathy Dawson wrote: > Not true.
