In answer to those owning a Mac and wishing to purchase cds by S-K Publications, I own a Mac, have just received my first cd published by them and it works beautifully. Very clear and readable. They do not have an index, however that is not a problem. The cds can be viewed by Imageviewer. One can download the program free from http://www.imageviewer.com/ I certainly will be buying more cds as they come available. John does quality work. Lula Hankins Hunter
Hello all, Thanks so much to all the volunteers who helped to have the 1880 Tazewell Co census scanned to disk format. We have now met our goal of 13 participants and the work is now in progress. The finished product should be available at the end of March. After that, the disk will be available for purchase (also for $20) by the general public and should also be available online for free. I will post a message to the list, with details, when it is ready. The disk can be purchased for use on pc or Macs. Again, thanks to all. Looking for any and all who are doing Matney and related surnames , please contact me if you are not already in touch. We have a lot of info to share !! Dan Matney [email protected]
Sorry It's not your post that got to me it's all the replies that everyone has to say about it. It's not really this one. It was the last one that went on for ever. I am on several surname lists plus four county lists. At this time I need to clear the way for the research messages. Please forgive my out burst. I just need to be removed from this one for now.
Irene- I'm sorry if my post has caused you to unsubscribe. I posted so that the good people of this list would be alerted to a possible scam and not lose good money. I've found this list to be very helpful and hope you stay on. Dodie- I hadn't considered that it was a joke in poor taste. I guess I lean against that because it was sent by snail mail and someone had to pay postage, and it came on a preprinted envelope. Thanks to all who replied. -Payton
Unsubscribe this list spends more time on junk mail than genealogy
