Have a great grand father proved by surry county court records as serving as an ensin and later as a leut. in Ruffins Infantry of Surry County virginia during the years of 1798-1800. Can anyone shed some light on this Infantry. His name was Sim (Syme) Thompson son of John and Rebecca Thompson. Thanks Cecil
