Marked on the outside: Book F Page 16A 1834 James Savage Will In the name of God, Amen, I James Savage of the county of Edgecombe of the State of North Carolina being mindful of my mortality do this day make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following: First I resign my soul into the hands of the Almighty God hoping and believing in a remission of my sins by the merit and meditations of Jesus Christ, and my said body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my ? and my worldly estate I give and devise as follows 1st It is my will and desire that my son-in-law William G. Rawling shall have all the land that I am ?eized and possess with by paying to John Barfield my other son-in-law one third of the valuation of the same and my youngest daughter Emmy Savage also one third said Land to be valued at my death. It is further my will and desire that my said son-in-law William G. Rawling shall have such ? sums of money made up to him out of my estate as he the said son-in-law shall advance for me before my decease with lawful interest. It is further my will and desire that my negroes be equally divided between my three children to wit: William G. Rawling, John Barfield and Emmy Savage after giving to ther last named one that is Emmy Savage, one hundred dollars to be made up of my estate over and above my two sons-in-law. It is further my will and desire that the residue of my estate if any shall be sold at the discretion of executor and the money arising from said sale to be equally divided between the above named children. It is further my will and desire that my son-in-law William G. Rawling shall execute this my Last Will and Testament revoking all others signed sealed and acknowledged to this ? Savedge and Cornelius Forman the subscribing witnesses therto and William G. Rawlings the executor named in the said will at the same time qualified thereto. Ordered that the same be certified and the will recorded Test. Mich. Hearn C.C. This James Savage was said to have been born in Sury Co, VA as well as the James H.
