There is an excellent book I recently reviewed while at the Salt Lake Genealogy Library, it is titled, "Claremont Manor- A History" by Eve S. Gregory. Claremont is a Plantation on the shore of the James River in Surry County, and this book was very interesting in that it discussed much of history of the area and the families of Claremont.
