    3. Greetings Listers! I just got word from the VAGenWeb list. It appears that www.genseekers.com is back. The following is quoted by permission. A word to the wise. Eve S. Gregory, Web Mistress Surry County, Virginia, Historical Society and Museums, Inc. http://www.rootsweb.com/~vaschsm/ Surry County VaGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~vasurry/ -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [STATE-COORD-L] FamilyDiscovery is up to old tricks Resent-Date: Thu, 27 Feb 2003 13:47:12 -0700 Resent-From: STATE-COORD-L@rootsweb.com Date: Thu, 27 Feb 2003 12:47:19 -0800 (PST) From: Joy Fisher <sdgenweb@yahoo.com> Reply-To: STATE-COORD-L@rootsweb.com To: STATE-COORD-L@rootsweb.com Hi Everyone: The old genealogy scam is back. www.genseekers.com Behind the password protection are links to the free genealogy on-line. There is no content of their own. In order to get the "5-day free trial" you have to surrender a credit card or bank account number. You have to cancel within 5 days or you get dinged. Guess what? The cancellation e-mail bounces. Does this surprise you? One person who recently fell for the come-on had his/her account dinged not once, but twice. It is time to remind folks on your state and county mailing lists about these scoundrels. It has been a couple of years since we have mentioned this. Permission is granted to pass this on. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
