Hello Surry Listers- I am researching the Waller family of Lunenburg and Mecklenburg, in particular a James Waller who first purchased land there in 1760. His wife as of 1784-1787 was Sarah Mathes/Matthews. I have seen some secondary evidence that a James Waller, with wife Rebecca were residents of Surry and had a son named STERLING. A Sterling Waller resided in Edgecombe Co. NC as of 1790 NC Census. Our James Waller of Lunenburg also had a son, Sterling, whom he named in his will, which was dated 1788. I'm hoping someone might have some information that might help prove the two James Wallers are indeed the same man. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. Carrie Newton
