I am researching the Ransom (Ranson, Ransome, Ransone, Ransum) surname Associated names that I am interested in include Gwathmey, Applewaite and Davis. Halifax NC: David Hunter of Surry - 2 grants 1753 Wm Drew of Surry sold to Thomas Hunter 1765 David Holloway of Surry bought 1764 Wm Short of Surry of Surry sold 1767 to James Milner Benjamin Little of Surry bought 1765 Wm Short of Surry sold 1770 to James Milner I do know that Drews moved to Halifax and stayed. Some were living next to our Wilsons. Also one Sebrell who no one seems to know existed...Joshua Sebrell. They were living very near the present Edgecombe/Halifax border.
