I am descended from the Debrix Family of Surry County, Virginia. The patriarchs of this family were John Sr. (c.1725-c.1783) and David Sr. (c.1740-?1816). I would like information on the following people, if anyone can provide it... 1. John Debrix Jr. (c.1745-c.1829), did he served in the Revolutionary War... his wife's name was Lucy, what was her maiden name? 2. Major Debrix (c.1766-c.1838)... did he serve in any militia... does anyone have access to his will 3. Henry Debrix (c.1807)... I suspect he died in the 1870's, because he is not listed in the 1880 census 4. Patrick H. Debrix (1838-190?) he married a woman, Mrs. Mary E. Debrix (1855-190?)... they were married in c.1870, could anyone find her maiden name 5. Catharine F. Debrix Vicks (1874-1927) was married in 1893... oral family history says his name was Benjamin Vicks... I approximate his birth and death at c.1871-c.1919, does anyone have or can get any info on that

Hello All, I wonder if anyone might have any resource that would cover this: In 1816, Stephen and Martha Sorsby, who were then living in Northampton Co, NC were said to have sold 263 in Surry Co, VA to someone. Would that transaction have been recorded in Northampton Co, NC or Surry Co, VA or both? Might anyone have a resource that would show that transaction? Thanks sooooo much! Audrey p.s. I have seen it spelled Sorsby/Soursberry/Sousbury/Shrewsberry/Sowersby, etc.

Greetings All! The oldest Cabin Point Cemetery I know of is now in the woods off Montpelier Road. The only modern tombstones are for the Butts family. There are a few others, but you have to hunt for them in the woods. James Hundley Deal 1817-1894 Elizabeth Ann Winson Deal 1802-1873 Wm. Emmett 1854-1855 J. O. Fitchett 1860-1916 Timothy Sydney Worthan 1826-1855 Louise Burt 1891-1906 Richard A. Perry, b. Dec. 13 (or 18) 1824, d. March 29, 1834 James Caldwell, d. Jan. 23, 1860, aged 32 years, Scottish birth. There are some Parkers and some Butts graves. If anyone wants therm, please let me know. Harrisons were also buried there, but they (along with their tombstones) have all been removed to Brandon plantation cemetery in Prince George Co. Other grave depressions are evident, but no grave markers are now visible. Eve S. Land H., My maternal grandfather's bro Alexander H. MUNFORD m. Ethel WRENN (dt of C.N. & Lou) in Victoria, Lunenburg Co., VA, 26 Dec 1924. Ethel was supposedly from the Dendron area of Surry Co.. Victoria was a company for the (Norfolk-to-Bluefield) Virginian R.R., for which Alex worked as a brakeman. Do any of these names (Ethel, C.N. & Lou) connect with your WRENN family?
