You asked about Yelverton Garrison of Stafford Co. I tried out a new (to me) genealogical technique which was recently given to me and a class full of genealogists. Use the search engine google (URL: www.google.com) Type in the full name of the person you are searching enclosed in quotes. "Yelverton Garrison" There was at least one hit for this man!!! What was it? I couldn't find a title to the list, but a quick scan indicated that these are Northern Neck Land Patents--the patent number is given--the date first--the patentee, and the watercourse on which the land was located. ( I didn't find Yelverton--that is for you to discover.) If you want to try to find a will/probate for Yelverton Garrison, I suggest you use the LDS family history library catalog which is on line, and look for the records of Stafford Co. www.familysearch.org The link to the catalog is on the lower right of the screen. Above it is a link to a list of over 3,000 worldwide FHCs. If you have a nearby LDS fam hist center, for a small fee, you can borrow films from Salt Lake City. But if you live in Virginia, you may be able to interlibrary loan from the VA State Library. But be sure whatever you library you use has a microfilm reader. The film itself is useless, otherwise. Good luck. E.W.Wallace
