    3. Hi again, Troy! I just realized that you didn't give me any birthdates (maybe you don't have any?) My Rodney Shelton was married to a much younger "Nancy" on the 1860 Census, so if that's the same Rodney, Jane Humphries would have been his first wife and she was deceased by 1860. Lucinda Shelton (age 3 on 1860 Census) was definitely the child of Rodney and Nancy, and my William Shelton, whose mother was definitely Jane, was already age 19 on that 1860 Census. Also, we either have two sets of twins on that census, or "Nancy", the second wife, was a widow and brought her children into the marriage. (Twins do run in some Shelton families in SC, VA, I noticed.) I'm not too savvy on how census takers would list that, but they listed three children, ages 19, 14, 7 (which is what I'm used to), THEN ages 14, 7, 4, 3, 2, as if they were starting over with a different set of children. What do you think? I'm sending you my "conjecturing" from census, death and birth records, and maybe someone from the Stafford County and Spotsylvania County lists can help us out, too (my William A. Shelton married in Spotsylvania County and lived there the rest of his life): I. Edward Shelton m. Nancy A. George Gustavus Shelton, m. Lucinda Pates 1. Mason Shelton, b. 1841; m. Nancy, b. 1849 a.
