    3. Hello List I have been confused by the where abouts of BENJAMIN EDWARDS b. 1752 in Stafford Co. My confusion results from his presence in St. Mary's Co. Maryland during the Revolutionary War. He is listed as a Second Lieutenant in the service of Maryland, is surrounded by my Edwards family of Maryland, serving with them and taking his Maryland Oath of Allegiance in front of Henry Tubbman in 1778 in St. Mary's Co.He married Margaret Beall of Maryland and removed to Ky. He is the brother of Haden Edwards of Stafford. Both are listed as Veterans of Stafford Co. doing Public Service. If anyone can explain his presence in two places or has any information regarding this son of Stafford Co. and his activity during the Revolution, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg White

    3. I presumed the Haden was really Hayden Edwards, since Hayden was a common surname among the Catholic crowd in MD. I find a genealogy in www.familysearch.com , AFN:G7FV-KS- which says these two were the sons of Hayden Edwards and Penelope Sanford. Hayden was the son of William Edwards and Mary Nicholson Hayden. I would not be surprised to find that this family was Catholic-especially since Hayden died in Bourbon, KY in 1803-looks suspiciously like they joined the Maryland Palatinate.
