Greg, This is from Stafford County Deed and Will Book Abstracts 1780-1786 by Sam and Ruth Sparacio. page14 This indenture made 3rd August 1780 between Benjamin Edwards and Margaret his wife being of Overwharton Parish and County of Stafford and John Hardy of said county and parish... Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for the sum of 15,000 pounds of crop Tobacco paid by John Hardy have sold land Benjamin Edwards now lives, the smae being a tract formerly belonging to George Williams & sold by said Williams unto Haden Edwards (both aforesaid Parish and County) which said tract Haden Edwards conveyed to his son, the above named Benjamin Edwards, bounded as in the deed from George Williams to Haden Edwards recorded in office of aforesaid county containing 160 acres and lying in the west side of the aforesaid tract.
