Hi all, I am researching any and all DAFFIN surnames(and variation of spellings). My Daffins were in Maryland where I was born and the earliest in St. Mary's Co. across from Va. I once corresponded with a lady who gave me a lot on some Va. Daffins (although the name may also be spelled DAFFAN). One story concerned the SHELTON name which is possibly a family which a Daffin/Daffan married into or vice versa. Due to some computer problems and failures I have lost all this invaluable information she gave me as well as her email address and name. Does anybody have any Daffin/Shelton info ? Seems there was a story of the Civil War where some Sheltons were at a Daffin's house when Union soldiers arrived or similar to this. Any help appreciated. You should be aware that the books and microfilm for Stafford County are available at RELIC, the Prince William County genealogy library in Manassas, VA. It is easier for me to go there from Bethesda, MD where I live than to Stafford itself. I will go there soon to find out what else is available for John Fendall Bell who married Jane Adie, had Sally Fendall Bell who married Henry Milstead and moved to Prince William. They had Annie Laura Milstead who married John Hammett Claggett. Sally Fendall, husband, and all sons and daughters are buried at Pohick Church in Lorton, VA. Charlie McNett

I am still trying to get past this brick wall. My gg grandmother was Susan A. Taylor born in 1867 and was married to John R. Newton in 1891. Susan was the daughter of James and Jane Taylor. Do you have any Williams, Trammell, Burk (Burkes other spellings) listed in those books? Any help appreciated. My first ancestor John Williams came to Stafford Co 1670 with dau Mary Alice and husband Thomas Trammell. I know all about the Trammells, but can't seem to connect the Williams. There are several marriages with Williams, also Boatrights, Smoots and about a million others. Nicholas Trammell helped found Nashville and died defending it. Any info helpful. There are several Archibald Allen's in VA-I am presuming all are related some how. I believe the Archibald Allen in Stafford Co, b 1721, was the son of an Archibald Allen of King George, VA, b 1697. I believe, but have no documentation, that he is the son of another Archibald Allen. Have no clue as to who and where the immigrant came from. Thanks again! Page 343 Rawleigh Taylor paid taxes in 1788/ 1789 Charles Taylor paid his taxes/ James Barton paid his taxes in 1790/ Charles Taylor paid his taxes in 1791/ James Barton paid them again in 1792/ and John White paid them from 1794 thru 1799. Hi, Its been awhile since I have posted a note as to my family, I am hoping someone sees this and may be able to help. Many in my family had used there middle name around people, not there given names. I don't know why, but that is what they used. I am looking for either Jacob Lawson or a Lawson Brooks, married Sally or Sarah Letitia Dickerson d/o Buck and Marion Sager Dickerson. All of Stafford Co. Va. Lawson may have been born around 1820-1840. Lawson and Letitia Brooks are buried on what is called Boze's land, not far from the family home, near Brooks landing.The family home is on Hartwood next to the Tolson family. Does anyone have anything on this family. They seem to crowded up someones tree and is hiding because I can not even find a birth date, death date and only found four of there children. Help Please.
