Perhaps try posting to the Germany list, especially if you have some idea where he might be from. Many (if not all) older European records are still kept at the Municipal level. My Wife is a LaTour. It was rumored throughout the family that her LaTours originated in Toulon, France. I posted to the France list and within a day, a wonderful Frenchman in Toulon was checking the local records. He found records back to the late 1600's!!!! In return, I did a little research here for his Wife's line. It was a very successful experience. Rick Monroe
