Does anyone know if anything was ever published or what the story is behind the GOONEY MANOR. It just looks like it has a story to tell! Where did the name GOONEY came from -- which also refers to GOONEY RUN through that area. Nancy Donak researching Rudacille, Henry, Cameron, Lockhart, Wines and related families
Early records of Frederick County gives another spelling for Gooney: > Frederick County court records show that in 1751/2, Philip Crum, William Hurst or William Harrill were to survey and order all tithables on Flint Run and its branches and Gawnys [Gooney's] Run and its branches from Walter Cunningham down to the county line. < Nancy Donak wrote: > > Does anyone know if anything was ever published or what the story is behind the GOONEY MANOR.
