On the copy of the 1820 census for Shenandoah County, I have (which I believe is a transcribed one) In addition to Pine Forge District, it list Speedwll Forge with 8 names, one of which is James Sterritt. Other districts are; Isabella Furnace, Luray, and Woodstock. THE Pine Forge District seems to be a large district so, I suppose it did in fact extend from the county boundry near Front Royal to near the New Market area. On second thought, in re-reading this, there are 16 names under Pine Forge and then a row of asterisks separating that list from the next which is not identified. The next portion definitely was South of Front Royal because I can identify several names from that area. So, in fact it appears my ancestors were not in the Pine Forge District after all. Sorry for the confusion. Guess sometimes we have to be more careful and even read between the lines. LOL Walt
