I believe David's wife - Sarah - eventually moved to Augusta Co. I have not found any census records or burial information to confirm this. Based on family info, letters and photos, I am quite certain she lived her later years in Weyers Cave with Mahlon Evans. A bit more info regarding Kesiah Evans, in the 1850 census (I can't find the page number right now) for Shenandoah Co near the entry for David (26) and Sarah (19) they show a Joseph Evans (28) and Keziah (38) . Joseph and Keziah have 3 children listed - Anne (18), Hiram (9) and Mahlon (3). The age of these children leads me to suspect Keziah had been previously married. I have been working on a theory that perhaps my Sarah Catherine is a sister to Anne and a daughter to Keziah. Sarah may have listed her mother's current married name. Within the same theory, I wonder if Joseph and David might have been brothers - but I really have no basis for this other than my own suspicion. If my theory is correct, then Sarah Catherine and Mahlon would be 1/2 siblings sharing their mother Keziah. This would also explain some 40 yr old family letters from a cousin in Staunton. One final note - I was given another document copy I believe is from microfilm reel 4 mariages in Augusta Co 1853-1882 that shows Hiram's marriage to Cyntia Long. That record says Hirams parents are Joseph Evans and Keziah Clum (sp?)
