David Evans and Sarah Freeman were married on 2 March 1849 - what I think it interesting is that the marriage book says Sarah is the daughter of Kesiah Evans which sounds like this is her second marriage. I don't see one in the marriage book though - nor do I see one for Kesiah. I don't see marriages for any of the other people you mentioned. Do you have another coutny they could be from or perhaps moved to? Robert Lemuel Evans was born June 7, 1869 in Edinburg, VA to David Evans and Sarah Catherine ___. I believe David’s wife was Sarah Catherine Freeman. If so, I think their marriage was March 2, 1849. The 1870 Madison Twp, Shenandoah Co census shows a David 42 with a Sarah 40 with children Joseph 18, Ellen 16 Virginia 13, Alberta 6, and “a no name female” 1. Family stories say Robert Lemuel’s father died when he was a boy. His mother remarried. Because Robert did not get along with his step dad, he left home and moved to Ohio where a brother is said to have lived. The Shenandoah Co web site shows a David Evans is buried in the Downey Cemetery, Edinburg but I don’t know if it is Robert Lemuel’s father. Cemetery notes say David was about 50 when he died, so that much seems to fit. I suspect Sarah’s second husband was Marcus Henry according to marriage records on the Shenandoah CO web site. Marcus Henry died July 7, 1889 and it appears he is also buried in the Downey Cemetery, Edinburg. Later in life Sarah moved to Weyers Cave and lived with Evans family there (Mahlon J Evans) Specifically, I would like more info on David Evans, Robert Lemuel’s siblings, and Mahlon's relationship. I need some lines to connect a few dots here.
