Eugene, I got unsubscribed for a day or so, probably because e-mail kept bouncing. I think my new ISP has really tight spam filters and that may be the problem. Anyway, I looked at the 1809 personal property tax list and found Elijah on the same day as a bunch of Morgans and McKays. This is a quick GUESS but it looks like he's somewheres near the mouth of Gooney Creek. William is a problem. He's on what I call the "Impossible" list - the one that basically covers southern Springfield in Page County. It's a huge list and includes people that I recognize all the way from the foot of the Blue Ridge to the Fort Valley. I call it impossible because I can't imagine how it was gathered or how to tell anything about neighbors. I'll continue looking for James. Tom "H. Thanks Tom. I suspecte that you're right in Elijah being near Gooney.
