As far as I know, I am not a descendant of the Kiblers, but they intermarried into some of my families. For example, Magdalena, daughter of Henry Kibler, married Jacob Baker, brother of my gg grandfather, Daniel Baker. I am especially interested in the origin (village) of the Kiblers since this information may be helpful in determining the origin of my Alters, Shaffers, Foxes and Moyers who also lived near the Kiblers. My immigrant ancestor, Philip Baker (Johann Philipp Becker) and wife Catharine Gramm, arrived at Philadelphia from Rhein-Durkheim, Germany, near Worms, aboard the Ship St. Andrew on Sept. 23 1752. He was a member of the Frederick County Militia in 1755. In 1762 he receives a Northern Neck Land Grant for 400 acres on Pass Run, which extended westward to near the North Branch of Dry Run. Their religion was German Reformed. The Kublingers/Kiblingers were also from Rhein-Durkheim and were German Reformed. The Shanks also lived near the Kiblers. You may want to check "Schenck, Shenk, Shank, History of the Descendants of Andreas Schenck in America 1732-1984" by Thomas L, Shank. According to Thom (pp. 1-19), Andreas Schenk/Shank was born at Marktlustenau, Baden-Wurrttemberg, Germany on Oct. 3, 1709. He married Rosina Biehlmajer at Crailsheim, Baden- Wurttemberg. Check the above reference for more information on places lived. They arrived at Philadelphia on board of the Ship Loyal Judith on Sept. 25, 1732. Two of their sons, Martin and John, moved to the Pass Run area in present-day Page Co., VA. Their religion was Lutheran. I shall appreciate any information that is found pertaining to the origin of the Kiblers as well as my above mentioned families. Joe Baker
