There is a magnifying glass on the market (company in business since 1950) which is an engineering marvel... as it not only magnifies but also gathers light. (I have been amazed to find that, using this little 2.5" bubble, I can even read computer-generated receipts so badly faded that they are almost "blank pieces of paper".) If you wish to know more about it contact me off-list. No vested interest here. Just trying to share what has been for me a "God-send".. Elaine
Elaine, I am interested in more information on that magnifying bubble you mentioned. My eyes sound just like Tom's. I love genealogy, but can only stand to do so much, before my eyes begin to burn and hurt.
