You can order microfilm from the Library of Virginia at Richmond through your local library interbranch loan program. I have recently viewed the following film: Department of Taxation Personal Property Tax Lists Shenadoah County, Virginia 1782-1799 Microfilm Reel #315 1800-1818 Microfilm Reel #316 1819-1830 Microfilm Reel #317 Each year is broke down into two lists. For example: 1819-List B-Samuel Bare's District; 1819-List A-Joseph Strickler's District. List A and List B Districts change the name of who is in charge of the district. For example, Samuel Bare may have the List A and Joseph Strickler may have the List B; however, they have the same people they had the year before. As the years go on, I noted that that same district person could be assigned List A or B; but the people on that particular list are are always the same ones he enumerated the previous year. I, too, would like to know the locations. In an effort to do that, I copied different pages of interest and in some of the years I have copied the entire year as a baseline in an effort to find the locations of the families I am interested. For example, if anyone on this list, knows where George Knisely lived, I could pinpoint the district that Joseph Strickler operated from in a number of years. I found him and his family buried in the cemeteries around Detrick just north of Overall this area being southwest of Front Royal and south east of Woodstock which lines up with the 1815 landowners that state he lived in that direction from the county courthouse. 1813 List B states "List of the Titheables and Taxable Property within the district of the Ninety seventh Regiment Shenandoah by James Headly on the Commissioners of the Revenue of the said County for th year ---- 1813" Chocy
