I am currently reading a book I picked up at a yard sale called THE FRONTIERSMEN by Allan W. Eckert. The book is stated as "fact, not fiction," and start around 1755 in Fauquier Co. Then goes to Kentucky. It is very interesting and provides a background for what times were like in those areas. It is well documented and lists lots of sources. Real names are used and a lot of material comes from diaries of the time. I am about 3/4 the way through and read every minute I can sneak in. I think it is a great source for anyone searching that area in that time period. I have not looked but it is probably on Amazon.com or ebay for a used price. It was first printed in 1967. If you like history and want to know how they got from here to there this will answer a lot of those questions. Coral in California
