Rick, depends if the record exists. For Rev War, the widow's application wasn't found but I know she got something because the pension was awarded after the death of the veteran. For WW2, widow's application plus a lot of other papers (testaments she was the wife) were included. Some records have been lost, apparently. When applying for pension papers from NARA, be sure to request ALL of the additional pages found.
