    3. Tom.. Try this: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~ysbinns/vataxlists About half way down the page there is a section: The "Help" Dictionary There are several years in that range with column explanations. For several counties, they mention what the Columns are for both A & B Headings in1789. Good luck.. Shirley S > I'm looking at a 1789 tax list with 8 columns. 3. Steve and Bunny, Your web pages are tops! Thanks for all the hard work you make available. The ? in number 8 is a superscript "pr" or per. 1. [VASHENAN] Pine Forge Beginning
    2. Tom Pierce
    3. Does anyone on the list have any hard evidence about the beginning date of Pine Forge? I am still trying to figure out several of my ironworker families who, like many industrial workers, left no deeds, wills, papers, etc. Anyway, I keep running into people too early and I'm trying to sort out whether they maybe were working at Miller's Ironworks in Augusta or whether Pine Forge (and possibly Isabella or a progenitor) started earlier than the dates I have always used. Tom
