Tom and Kym, What I know of our family backs up what Tom says. David Russell served in the War of 1812. (Previously in the Revo. War.) I believe there must have been several who left for Licking Co, OH.. Muskingum Co, OH. Sometime in 1815, David Russell moved his family to Muskingum Co, near Licking Co. (Later in Licking, before migrating to Vermillion Co, IN.) Joseph W Crown also left Shenandoah Co. for Licking Co, OH. He and his family remained there. Joseph Crown's wife, Mary, was a sister of David Russell's wife Jane. (Maiden name of Slater.) Some Slaters also migrated at the same time.. same places.
