I live in OH and also wonder why the migration from Shenandoah Co. My ancestors came to Ross Co Oh about 1835. This area was a draw because of good farm land. Rev War grants at one time too. But I've always thought they would come to a location where they already had family living. Of course, some family had to start things off and the first to move. Maybe it would be worthwhile for you to join the Licking Co Oh Rootsweb list for awhile and ask that question, ie what was that area like during the time period your ancestors came here?
