    3. Joyce, I don't see your Margaret Wilson in the index of William A. Good's book Shadowed by the Massanutten, but I found the following items on men named Samuel Hupp (later generations) that you might find to be of interest. "Death of Samuel D. Hupp Nov. 1902, Samuel D. Hupp, and excellent citizen of this county, died Monday afternoon of last week at his home on Smith's Creek two and a half miles south of New Market. He had been ill less than two weeks with typhoid fever and had every prospect of safe recovery, when he suffered a relapse which quickly carried him off. Deceased was a son of the late Samuel A. Hupp and was born April 2, 1844. His family connections are numerous in the vicinity of New Market, Timberville and Forestville. His wife was Miss Hettie Branner who survives him with three children, Casper and Miss Minnie Hupp, who live at the homeplace, and Mrs. Jacob Lincoln, of Lima, Ohio. Mr. Hupp had been and influential member of the Lutheran church for many years and his burial took place in New Market on Wednesday following his death. The services, which were very largely attended, were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Dr. Snyder." Among the "gleanings" at the back of the book is the following entry: "1884, May 22, Samuel A. Hupp, b. May 16, 1804, father of 11 children, son Samuel lives at Craney Island. I don't know if it was this book? I thought sure my ancestress, Margaret 'Peggy' Wilson would be in it. She married Samuel Hupp in 1796 in Shenandoah Co., VA. The marriage bond, which I found in a microfilm, shows her guardian was Benjamin Williams. I checked the book that day and she was not listed. Is she listed in this book? She is one of my brick walls. With no record of her parents, and a common name like Wilson, her family has been impossible to find. I will have to go to the site, as I would be willing to type a page, if only to help find my Margaret. Joyce --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Free Pop-Up Blocker - Get it now

    3. Hi Sherry, this seems like he must be part of my family! Caspar (or Casper) was the father of my Samuel Hupp, b 1772. I know there were a number of Hupps in the area, some related, some maybe related, some maybe not? I will have to look into this - it is the first I have heard of this family! I do show a Samuel b 1814, but he did not have a son Samuel that I show. Well, more research! Thanks ever so much! Joyce > > I don't see your Margaret Wilson in the index of William A.
