Ms Ruth.....May I suggest that Isabella Furnace, as referenced in the 1820 census, encompassed an area similar to our present day SOUTH RIVER DISTRICT; NORTH RIVER DISTRICT; FORK DISTRICT, etc. If you're using the images at Ancestry.com you'll find seven (7) pages of images, all designated Isabella Furnace. It included Browntown, Bentonville and even parts of the Fort Valley. Please check out the following link--it may help explain - check about 1/3 way down the article. http://www.rootsweb.com/~vashenan/blackfordiron.html RUTH HENRY wrote: > > Hi, > I am wondering if anyone can tell me the exact location of Isabella Furnace. My ancestor john Jennings was listed in 1820 census for Isabella Furnace, however he lived at Browntown area. Would this area of Browntown be called Isabella furnace. > Regards, Louise > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Protect your identity with Yahoo!
