Hello, Looking for any information on Joseph T. Orndorff (11 May 1861 - 30 Jul 1945) who married Sarah Cole (d. 16 Feb 1928). Parents of Joseph T. Orndorff (per "Someone You Knew") were Simon and Catherine Garrett Orndorff. I believe this family to have lived in the area of Zepp and Star Tannery. Am trying to connect to their grandson, Walter D. "Buck" Orndorff (25 Jul 1918 - 3 Dec 2000), who I believe to be a "cousin", but who was also, by marriage, an uncle. His mother was Ethel Mae Orndorff - first married to Solomon Orndorff (whom I have NO information on and who probably died in the 1920's) and second married to a LaFollette. This family is most likely descended from Henn zu Ohrndorff (circa 1560 - 1616) of Germany, whose descendants emigrated to America in the 1700's and located in Shenandoah County soon thereafter - per Daniel W. Bly in "From the Rhine to the Shenandoah." Any information appreciated on this family. thanks, Don *************************************************** Don Silvius Coordinator Shenandoah County VAGenWeb <http://www.rootsweb.com/~vashenan/vashenan.html> <dsilvius@intrepid.net> <dsilvius@tlcdelivers.com> ***************************************************
Hello, I have some information on an Orndorff family from someone some years ago who was not blood related to me and lived at or near Cumberland, MD. If you are interested and if I can locate this document I can send it to you. Don't know if it is related to your group.
