    1. [VASHENAN] Rev. Henkel & Davidsburg Church near New Market

    3. Thanks folks, for sharing your knowledge, regarding Rev. Henkel. I discovered that the ShenCo website has a link to local churches. I found Rev. Henkel mentioned in relationship to several churches. Three seemed to tie into my elusive Corder families and one ties into a bondsman to a Corder marriage--Henry Reader who m. a dau of Geo Dellinger. Can anyone tell me about Davidsburg and where it might have been located? If I followed the material regarding the churches of ShenCo, then it looks like the Davidsburg Church built by Rev. Henkel split to become the Emmanuel Church and St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Market. Are there church records available somewhere from the Davidsburg Church or the Emmanuel / St. Matthew Lutheran churches of New Market? I'd be looking for records between abt 1809 -1820. Looking for church records is something new for me, so any guidance will be helpful. Thanks, Nancy Santa Fe, NM

    3. Davidsburg Church Baptisms 1786 - 1845, New Market, VA, Transcriptions and Translations by John Stewart and Klaus Wust, 1983; I think this book may be available from the Shenandoah Historical Society. In addition to the church records, the authors write of the history of the church.
